Dear Anirudhji,
My advice to your friend is to prostrate before his father and apologize for beating him.
Even if it changes the father or not, it will definitely save the son from a permanent feeling of guilt (especially after the father leaves his body later).
Moreover, the father may be moved by this act of his son and get transformed too.
So, surrender to the Lord, ask for pardon, then forget and forgive the whole past.
May God Bless you all,
HariOm!
