swamiji, namaskaram. Could you please explain why a ”nilavilakku” is placed on the shape of a ”koorma”?what quality of the tortoise is to be imbibed by us?

Dear Sobhana,
“Koormam” or tortoise represents our mind. Mind can entertain worldly as well as Godly thoughts. When we entertain worldly thoughts, it is like the tortoise extending its limbs outside. When we concentrate on Godly thoughts by chanting Namasankeerthanam, then it is like the tortoise withdrawing the limbs inward. It is expected from the devotees that we should not think any thing other than Namasankeerthanam inside the temple.
