Swamijis teach us that God is not a separate being but the very soul within us.If it is true why humans by nature are prone to pray to gods as separate beings?

Dear Pradeep,
As long as one considers God as a statue or picture, one has to be separate from God.
But if you study and understand the wisdom of Krishna. He clearly says “see Me as your own Atma, and never think I am different from you”.
Unfortunately, we never follow what Krishna taught us, we foolishly pray for alms, which he never told.
