Swamiji Namaskaaram. It is believed in Hindus that, when a child is born in a family, all the blood-relatives in the mother’s relation are restricted to enter a temple. What is the logical reason to this aacharam. If a relative is not located in the birth place, does it cosmically affect him? Suresh

Dear Sureshji,
All these customs vary from place to place and temple to temple. There are some temples, where even very small infants are allowed to enter. Usually these customs are practised to observe hygiene and serenity in the temple premises.
