Swamiji, Elders have been insisting me to get married. But, sometimes I feel marriage will pull you into the vortex of the material world and hinder self realization. However, some other times, I tend to think like the elders, whose main argument is the loneliness and lack of purpose in life without marriage, which would be difficult to understand now. Could you please guide me to get out of this dilemma.

Dear Arunji,
It is not the act of marriage, but the partner whom you choose that matters.
If you marry a person out of expectation to escape from loneliness or boredom, you may be disappointed.
But if you marry girl with similar culture and attitude to come up in life and uplift each other’s mind, that marriage will be blessed.
(Most of our Rishis were married).
