when lord krishna in geeta says that do not desire the fruits of your action, what does he mean, since,desire and hope are inspirations to work ?

Dear Varunji,
Krishna never told “never desire for result”; this is a wrong interpretation and understanding of Bhagavat Gita.
On the contrary, Krishna emphasizes for doing action with an aim or result, but never get locked up with result .
It is the tendency of every mind that if we get some thing (result ) more than we expected, our mind will become proud and it may get stuck up with that result. Once mind feels that “If I get good result with lesser effort, then why should I work hard?”, this foolish over-confidence will harm our future.
So learn from failures and share your success with others by saying “it was because of their help it happened”. This humility and humbleness alone help us to progress positively.
