swamiji, my understanding was if one do bad karma he and his seven generation should pay back for the karma.this is in effect for bad and good karma when i listened to your teachings,you are responsible for your karma no body can do anything for you ( good or bad)my understanding you are responsible for your salvation now when I heard about prahladan in bhagavatham when bhagavan appeared to prahladan, he did not ask for any varam. but god says to prahladan your 21 generation will be blessed. please explain. which slokam will support that you are responsible for your salvation thanks Joseph

Dear Josephji,
Though we can not transform others, we can guide or inspire them to walk in the right path. Even in the material world whatever facility we have enjoyed is the contribution of our previous generation. Many people continue the business started by their forefathers. So, if we regularly practise positive thoughts it has an influence in the society as well as through generations.
Let us take the life of Krishna and Jesus; they left the world thousands of years back, but their influence is still strong because of their positive energy. So the story of Prahlada reminds us that our life will be more fruitful if we live and inspire others with positive thoughts. Later on, the generations will honour and bow their head for the contribution of their forefathers.
