In life how can one overcome the pain caused by regret over past knowingly and unknowingly done mistakes?

Dear Anandji,
A slight amount of guilt is good as that will stop you from repeating the mistakes.
But do not allow it to grow, as it will destroy your life.
If Ratnakara could not drop his past entirely, how could Valmiki be born?
Are we calling him a robber or a Sage?
So, thank God for giving the new insight and move ahead with devotion.
