Dear Dhananjayan,
The journey of the soul depends on culture which it carries. If the culture is spiritual (love,respect,service etc.) such soul takes a higher birth (in a spiritually predominant family). Instead of worrying about the soul after death realize the fact that soul has no birth and death. Your ego has come from the soul; unless you surrender your ego it separates you from the soul.Hence you are haunted with doubts.
