namaskaram swamiji’, i want to know abt RUDRAM sloka. one of my friend is chanding rudram every tuesday. she is north indian. she said whenever i heard that anywhere is earthquake or such things happening i will chant rudram. then a light will pass to that place. what is the psychology behind that. can u pls explane that?is ladies can chant rudram?is that so powerful?pls answer me…………

Rudram is the divine, vedic mantra which is generally used for pleasing Lord Siva.
Unfortunately, the priest class interpreted every thing in a wrong way.
Lord Siva is not an idol. Siva is our own Self and these hymns are to express one’s love and gratitude which helps to experience God who resides in us.
If we destroy the harmony of nature and recite the mantra, it will have no meaning.
