dear swamiji, Please throw some light on the kind of food we should eat to maintain a body that will help meditation efforts. I have realised that in the mornings I am able to maintain a calm mind and can concentrate on the atma for sometime but in the evenings when I sit with my family for nama japam, i am so tired that I am not able to concentrate. Is it because of food? I do pranayamas in the morning regularly.

Dear Anand Mohan,
Our body consists of Kapha, Pitha and Vatha. If this balance is disturbed, body will feel more tired, lethargic and sleepy. So in the morning till 8 o”clock drink more water and eat less food. Morning 8 to 2 in the after noon, our digestion is powerful; so you can eat more solid food. After 2 o”clock, our digestion gets week; so we should not eat much solid food. During this time, consuming juices, milk and fruits is recommended by Ayurveda.
