Dear Prasanna Jayachandran,
Though God”s presence is same in every one, mentally and physically all are different. Those who are undergoing menstrual periods would find it difficult to take 41 days” penance and travelling through the forest areas. So inorder to keep the purity our great ancestors started this practice. However, they insisted to remember the Lord at all times.
