Swamiji, I am a student of GITA and closely listens your lessons at Sangeetha Sabha, Bangalore. We explored the minds of Dhritharashtra, Duryodhana, Drona and Bhishma as examples of different state of mind in response to serious situations that come in our day to day life. Generally we all unite in opposing the Minds of Dhritharashtra and Duryodhana as it will be disastrous if we allow such minds to freely wander among us. We capture those minds and analyses them, make judgments over their deeds and give punishments over the crime committed. Should we explore more into this? We maynot completely understand the “Visala Buddhi” of Vyasa if we just take Dhritharashtra and Duryodhana as false symbols only and oppose them in a natural way? The question is, should we understand Dhritharashtra fully? The question is how does he become like a person with “Dynyata”? The birth of Dhritharashtra itself was not a pleasant one, right? Ambika and Ambalika might have known the rules of a civilized society, but they are denied of the basic right of their times, the swayamvara. That was done by Bhishma. If we support Bhishma in this, we will become blind to the “Visala Buddhi” of Vyasa? Anyway Ambika and Ambalika were forcefully taken as brides to Vichitravirya. Ambika and Ambalika might have anger towards the rules and regulations of thier times, which didnt help in saving their life. So as the persons who stands for these. So naturally they would have been reluctant towards Vyasa, thereby giving birth to Dhritharashtra, a blind boy. What would have been the world of Dhritharashtra? His outside world is the perception or impressions of his helpers who definitely might have shown only “Dyanyata” to him? He might become like a man supporting anybody (without any judgement) who showed some care to him. So definitely he couldnot resist the thoughts of his well-wishers and he might have “blindly” accepted that. Similarly, can we think of Duryodhana ? This is important because, Terrorism is being propagated by people who haven been thrown out from the main stream of thought due to their “Dynyata”, physically, or financially or emotionally. We donot care them, but we oppose them once they became a Dhritharashtra or Duryodhana. Swamiji, could you please elaborate on this at our ongoing GITA class, if you find this as a relevant topic?
