How deter from being miserable when placed in a hostile environment? When others do not reciprocate your love and care how should one react? Should we ignore such people or continue to care for them since its our duty?

Dear Ajithaji,
Hostility means, you have no belonging or love or friendliness towards a place or people. A truly spiritual person will not feel hostility towards any one and he/she feels that every one is part of the same divinity or SOURCE. Only through meditation you can develop this loving nature.
When you give service to others, do not fall into slavery as it will turn into hatred and revenge later.
Hariom!
