Hari Om Swamiji, Let me point out a doubt here…It is told that we say pranaams as a part of greeting our souls/jeevathma, as per Indian culture. But we also do namaskaars to a dead body -from which that chaithanyam is gone!! If “shivam”((chaithanyam) is gone –it is “shavam” ( as I know). Kindly make it clear- what is behind this?

Dear Manjulaji,
Attaining a human birth is considered to be a great privilege as it is the only chance of self realization.
So, human body with its brain system and spinal code gives the ideal instrument for Sadhana and meditation.
Such a human body is given its last tributes by offering Pranams before cremation.
HariOm!
