Swamiji, namaskaram our culture teaches us that we have to do obeisance to the souls of our relatives(pitrukkal) by doing the BALI. My doubt is..when there is no death for the Atman even after the death of the body. and when there are chances that that Atman might have taken another birth or might have got deliverance if he was a Punyatma…what is the meaning in doing this Bali? There are children who are not able to do this bali, for various reasons. What will happen to such souls?

Dear Sobhana,
I follow the teachings of Lord Krishna and AdiSankaracharya. Both were against these kinds of rituals. They never insisted on the observance of these rituals. According to them, sincere service to the parents and elders and surrendering ourselves to the Lord is what we need. The Lord promises that HE will take care of such devotees and their families.
