Dear Swamiji I am studying in 12th std. after plus two i want to do B.Sc, M.Sc (maybe Ph.D also) and then eventually go into research jobs. But my parents are forcing me to go into B.tech and then do MBA. i tried to convince them many times about my interest in research. But they are saying excuses like ‘there is no job safety’, ‘it is risky’ , ‘you will get to nowhere’ , ‘there is no value for it’ etc. Swamiji what should i do? how should i remove such orthodox beliefs from their mind? there are enough opportunities after B.Sc and M.Sc in research, provided i’m a good student(good grades). i told them i will work hard but they are not listening..please tell me a way swamiji?

Dear Rohit,
If you can not convince others, it is because of your past performance and lack of effective communication.
Even after B.Tech you can go for M.Tech and Ph.D.
(Remember, your mind is so powerful that it can convert any difficulty into simplicity).
So, if you are very sure that you can not study any thing other than what you like, be firm with your decision and committed with your goal.
