Dear Viswanathan,
To experience the Godly presence in us, we require a concentrated, dedicated and surrendering mind. To reach that level, you require some symbol through which you can lift your mind from the “God with form” to the “Formless Truth”. Salagram and shivalingam can create a positive environment. Where there is more energy, the presence of the Lord is imminent. Thus you can easily shift and focus your mind from many forms to one form and then to the formless truth.
