Dear Radhakrishnan,
The concept of God is to be understood and realized. When we look into our personality, it consists of the physical body and the expression of the thoughts through this body. Our ancestors say that we are the combination of gross and subtle body (mind). The subtle mind and the gross body are united by the Supreme Truth called Chaithanyam. If God’s presence ceases to manifest then the mind departs the body. So we should understand that God is not a person; HE is the only reality. To experience HIM our mind should develop high concentration and surrendering. For that the “Ishtadevatha Dhyanam” is recommended in our culture. So the God in a form helps you to experience the formless Truth. Therefore consider Siva as your Chaithanyam and Parvathy as your own mind which is united with Siva.
