Namaskaram Swamiji: When Lord Krishna tells Arjuna that God loves the ‘devotion’, not the ‘devotee’, I am somewhat confused and I must confess, ‘less thrilled’. Doesn’t the devotee too deserve some love from God? Please Swamiji, explain. With profound thanks and vandanam….Radha

Dear Radhaji,
Devotee is a person or an identity. But devotion is a feeling that connects you to God.
It is not the person but the devotion or intense love in his heart that pleases the Lord.
So, Ratnakara became great when his devotion made him Sage Valmiki.
