Hari Om Swamiji, I was very fortunate to see and hear you on the auspicious day of Sivaratri on 10/3/2013 at Ayyappa Temple, Rohini, New Delhi. I had asked this question to you on that day also, but it seems due to time limits, you were unable elaborate on the subject. My doubt and question is: We often hear from our elders that “Ella divangalum onnane”. By saying this, what they probably mean is, there is only one supreme power in the universe and the Hindus worship him as various Avtars of God & Goddesses, Christians as Jesus and Muslims as Allah. But Christians say that there is only ONE supreme power which is “Pitavu” and there is only ONE God who is “JESUS”. Unfortunately, the Hindus are very flexible in their belief and faith and they don’t mind going to a Church or lit candles at Velankanni shrines. I have seen photos of Jesus & Velankanni Mathavu placed among other Hindu God/Goddess in the houses of many Hindu families. However, Christians never believe in Hindu Gods or go to Hindu Temples or even participate in any Hindu devotional rituals, due to a very strict prohibition from their leaders. I have never ever in my life (i am 47 years old, settled in Delhi since last 41 years) seen a photo or idol of any Hindu God/Goddess in a Christian house. Swamiji, please let me know in the present scenario where the Christian missionaries (funded by America & other Christian Countries) are hell-bent to convert every single Indian Hindu to Christianity by canvassing the poor and downtrodden by luring them with money, education and other means, injecting Christianity to our children who study in their convent schools; how logical it is for us Hindus to still believe that all “Gods are same” and showing faith in other religions or even think of converting into other religions? Our children are highly confused and are in big dilemma now. They know and understand Christianity more than their own Hindu traditions and holy scriptures. Therefore, they nurture an alarming tendency of being inclined towards Christianity which seems less complicated to understand and without any religious restrictions towards eating, drinking or other social obligations.
