Pranam Swamji, Recently held satasang in Bangalore,you had mentioned that in our hindhu mythology , importance is given to our SELF(atam) and not to our body. Again in our scriptures in has been said Mata , Pitha , Guru , Deivam.When a child is born it knows only the mother, then the father steps in and later the teacher. Via this teaching, the child is told to treat them as equal to god. Is it worshipping the parents is equal to worshipping God?

Dear Pramod,
If parents follow the qualities of God (non-expectation, courage,patience, attachment with God and wisdom regarding the Self) then worshipping such parents can be considered equivalent to worshipping God.
In Bhagavatham, fathers like Rishabha and Ambarish were considered equivalent to God. Pandavas considered Kunthi equivalent to God.
