When we study Geeta and Bhagavatham, that help us to understand the inner meaning of 16008 wives of Krishna.
8 represents Prakruthy( 5 Pancha Bhoothas + Manas + Budhi + Ahamkaram = 8).
16 represents the various changes happening to the Prakruthy.
Unless you study this through Geeta you may not get real clarity.
