Hari Om, Swamiji, I just want to clarify whether our Hindu Dharma gives one a “choice” whether to marry or not. I have listened to many prominent religious personalities that our Vedas talk of pursuing the four Ashramas of our life very religiously. Could you please dispel my doubt through authentic references from our VEDAS AND VEDANTIC TEXTBOOKS whether there is a choice to marry or not? Misinterpreted religion has become instrumental in parents and relatives forcing a child to marry to safeguard oneself from the taunts of the society. Hari Om Swamiji

Understand, no text ever insists us to “do” certain things.
Our Scriptures never interfere with our life, rather it shows the path.
If you want you can marry. If you don’t want, leave it. It is up to you to decide because life is yours.
When you discover a girl who understands your mind and feelings and similarly you too understand her mind, then select that partner.
Marriage is a journey of two minds who help each other to evolve and support each other.
