Dear Swamiji HariOm!! Hope you are doing well. I sent the below question once and I got an answer from you as well. But I am kindly informing you that I am not satisfied with your answer. please read my question again. All hindu sacred texts like Vedas, Upanishads, Bagavet Gita and so on says that there is only one god in hinduism and the god has no image as well. I personally agree with this. And in these texts it is also stated that idol worship is not allowed in hinduism. (Bagavat Gita ch.7 vs.20, Yagurveda 40:16]8, Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]1, Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]3). But still hindus are worshiping idols. So I would like to know what is the reason behind idol worship? How idol worship came in to hinduism? if idol worship is not allowed how hindus worship god? The answer is: Worship is not to create warship in the mind, unfortunately now it is turning in that direction in all religions. Worship is to help us to to evolve from a weak mind into a strong mind. Then alone one can face all situations peacefully in life. HariOm! Thank you for your reply. I accept your answer and I am totally agree with you. But I am kindly informing you that the answer for my question is not complete. I am thirsting for the answer for this question. I made a small research through internet, books and some other articles to find the exact answer for this question. But I am not fully satisfied with my findings from my research. I do not wish to live like a normal Hindu and I do not want to waste my precious human life. So please consider my question in that way. I am not a religious terrorist or a person who rejects all other religious views. I accept all the religions and accept their rituals and believes like our Hinduism teaches us. In Bagavat Gita, Chapter 7, Verse 20-25 says, those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures. akāmaḥ sarva-kāmo vā mokṣa-kāma udāra-dhīḥ tīvreṇa bhakti-yogena yajeta puruṣaḿ param Less intelligent people who have lost their spiritual sense take shelter of demigods for immediate fulfillment of material desires. Generally, such people do not go to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, because they are in the lower modes of nature (ignorance and passion) and therefore worship various demigods. Following the rules and regulations of worship, they are satisfied. The worshipers of demigods are motivated by small desires and do not know how to reach the supreme goal, but a devotee of the Supreme Lord is not misguided. Because in Vedic literature there are recommendations for worshiping different gods for different purposes (e.g., a diseased man is recommended to worship the sun), those who are not devotees of the Lord think that for certain purposes demigods are better than the Supreme Lord. But a pure devotee knows that the Supreme Lord Kṛṣṇa is the master of all. In the Caitanya-caritāmṛta(Ādi 5.142) it is said, ekale īśvara kṛṣṇa, āra saba bhṛtya: only the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, is master, and all others are servants. Therefore a pure devotee never goes to demigods for satisfaction of his material needs. He depends on the Supreme Lord. And the pure devotee is satisfied with whatever He gives. I am a great fan of Swami Udit Chaitanya ji and I like the way he explains the matters. He always quote the proofs while he explaining something. So I hope you can give me a correct answer for my question. A correct answer may helps me, my family and my society to reach Supreme God. May god gives you the intelligence and strength to guide us.
