Palazhy madmanam is symbolization of one’s own sincere effort to achieve some thing.
In that churning (sincere work with like minded people one side is “devas” then people with jealousy, laziness and ego are the “asuras” ) one achieve favourable and disturbing results.
Vishnu gets the favourable (amtrutham) and Siva gets the unfavourable (poison); when one goes through both, they succeed in real life.
