Pujya Swamiji, I just want to clear a doubt which is disturbing me since morning after my visit to a nearby Siva Temple. Every Monday early morining I go to Siva Temple. There i always lit a small vilaku behind the Siva Lingam… Today morning after lighting the lamp i came out of the Temple and suddenly the small glass bottle in which i carry oil slipped from my hand and broke into pieces… There was no oil in it as it happened after lighting the vilakku.There were many devotees inside the temple. I immediately cleared off all the glass pieces as i feared no one should step on it. One devotee told me nothing to worry as the bottle broke after lighting the lamp. But still i feel its a sign of bad omen….Today in chingam onandhi and i really felt bad because it happened on this good day. Please clear my doubt swamiji….

Dear Sharada,
Everyone experiences a lack of shraddha at times. Please don’t panic. Sometimes God is so merciful that He wants to inform you that certain difficulties/problems are coming up in your life and he might indicate it through such small incidents. So whenever you feel disturbed or experience some loss, consider it a warning for the mind to hold on more closely to God so that He can protect you through these difficult times. On the other hand, if you allow your mind to be disturbed, your mind will take you away from God. Never allow the mind to brood over such incidents, but remember God at all times.
