Not a question from me. But it’s about the discourse, by Swamy Udit Chaitanyaji, I watched on 22.4.14 morning. Wherein, Swamiji said “Jeevanam Sarvabhooteshu…….” and explained that ‘jeeva’ is in every living entity, including plants. Dr.J.C. Bose, a scientist, also proved that. Srila Prabhupad, founder Acharya of ISKCON, has explained in his book “Self Realization” Chapter ‘Thou Shalt no Kill’, wherein he quotes “Patram Pushpam, Phalam Thoyam yo me bhaktya…..” of Bg.9.26 and says ‘ vegitables, fruits, & grains should be offered to me (Krishna) in devotion’ . There is no ‘chetana’ in vegitables, fruits, milk and grains so it can be offered to Krishna and we can take the remnants as ‘prasadam’ then there is no sin in it, whereas killing animals, birds, fish etc is a sin because it has ‘chetana’ – emotions, feelings etc. like human being. This is what I could understand from todays discouse on TV after referring the ‘Self Realization’ Book. Am I right?

Please understand, killing for food is part of nature, but killing for ‘tasty food’ is a human misbehaviour only.
If an animal is a part of our ‘food chain’ it becomes our natural food.
When we have a choice, why should we give pain to other living beings?
(Strictly speaking, we are expected to eat only ripe fruits fallen from the trees).
The entire creation is a projection of an alive Consciousness.
