Brahmacharya is the phase of learning where the young student studiously works with a single focus on gaining maximum knowledge and wisdom.
Garhasthya is taking responsibility for family and society while performing his duties sincerely with a noble purpose.
Vanaprastha is discharging duties to younger generation and slowly withdrawing oneself from a worldly life.
Sannyasam is completely devoting oneself to the Supreme by total detachment from the world.
