Dear Renju,
Old age means a life of past experiences, memories and impressions.
You can not change a person who had a strong concept of his life.
It is upto us to adjust and co-operate with them.
And with a loving touch, if we can influence their mind, they may change their attitude and habits.
So attend to him regularly, speak very softly and have a loving patting.
This may create appositive situation which may influence him.
