My namaskaras to you swamiji…..i have 2 sons aged 17yrs and 12 yrs …..my elder son is studying 1st year egg and younger son in class 7. They both don’t respect our feelings and never listen to us or grandparents. Elder son is a capable boy to study well but because of his friends and some diversion at this age he dint do well in his 12th…somehow managed to get seat in college by giving some money . But he’s never realising our difficulties we faced since 2 years and still we are seeing him always with his phone, friends etc not at all studying. Younger son also wants only material benefits from us…he also argues with us….really don’t understand why should we have such children who doesnt understand the pains of their parents inspite of telling them so many times. We tried to go for the art of living classes put my younger son also …so that that would mould his character…but we are not seeing any change…..i always have a feeling if we will be deserted once we grow old….children might take away all the money from us and throw us on roads…as I saw a maths teacher’s situation who was begging in trivandrum railway stn being thrown away by her children…finally her students found her photo with details of her and took her away from there….i know we shouldn’t expect anything back from our children but atleast they should let us live peacefully without troubling us in our old age…..kindly advise how to bring up such children….hari om

Hi Swami,I lost my parents when i was a kid and my grandparents bought me up. My grandpa was a devotee of Lord Ayyappa and he is next to God to me. But during my school days i caused him lot of tension and problems and later when i was in college i realised my mistake and apologised profusely for all that i had done. Since then my only dream was to treat him like a king and not allow him to work anymore once i have a job of myself. Finally after i graduated from college, i found a job but God did not let me accomplish my dream. My Grandpa passed away 2 months after i got the job. Now this haunts me a lot. I have a brother and a grandma to look after. I have no home of my own and after struggling for 3 years with 2 different jobs that didnt pay much, i decided to do something very risky. I took out a loan and borrowed money from so many people and have now come to Germany to do my Masters in Engineering with a hope that i would be able to provide a decent living form my grandma and brother and of possible build a house. God has been with me every step of my life and he still is letting me know his presence through kind people here. But the loss of my grandpa is in the back of my mind and this haunts me. The realisation that i wasnt able to do anything for him makes me feel guilty on top of the fact that i hurt him so much with my troubles in school. Can you please advise me how i should look at my life as even its in trouble as if i fail in this pursuit, i wont be able to go back home or pay the debt. I could even end up here after an year begging on the streets or worse if i dont find a part time job, which is proving really difficult due to my poor german language skills.

Respected Swamiji, am writing here because am too much worried about the our elder daughter. We are from a middle class family. Our elder daughter is 24 1/2 year old. She is trying to get a govt job past 2 year. But can’t achieve her aim. We have some financial problem so we don’t have enough liquid cash to get her married. We are trying to sell our land but having delay on that. Everytime when it comes to her there is always a problem. As a mother am very much worried about her. But the real problem is she doesn’t have any worries about life. She is telling me that everything will happen when the right time comes. When i asked her why you are not worried about not getting a job evenafter you try hard she is telling me that woorying doesn’t change anything. She also telling me that don’t think too much about her marriage beacuse she doesn’t have a rush to marry. Everyone is asking me and her about her marriage. Whenever i hear people asking me about her marriage i feel so bad beacuse we are not able to raise money for her marriage. But she is too cool with that. What she is telling me that she has belief in lord shiva. She is asking me to look at others who is with less fortune than us. When she console me like this i feel like she is less responsible compared to other girls of her age. But what she is telling me that she knows her responsibility and the situvation but she doesn’t want to worry about future or past. Beacuse of her attitude everyone is thinking that she is not normal. Am so much worried about her. Kindly give me your advices.
