I have answered this question earlier. “Mashodanam” in Brihadaranya upanishad is a meal made with rice and pulses. It was misinterpreted by Western translators with poor understanding of Sanskrit to “Mansodanam” meaning rice with meat and hence the confusion. Hari Om.

Dear Swamiji, I am a boy of 18 years.I am going through a very worst phase of my life.The reason for this is that my mother did a very bad thing to me.She did the same thing like Hamlet’s mother(Shakespeare’s novel).The only difference between Hamlet and me is that my father is still alive and he is also not very good.I am really ashamed to tell you directly what my mother did,that’s why I made a reference to Shakespeare’s famous novel ‘Hamlet’.To make things more worse I am a chronic addict.I am unable to control my mind at the threshold of my adolescence.I have tried to commit suicide a lot of times but I failed miserably.If I can’t refrain my mind from flowing into that addiction I will commit suicide for sure.So Swamiji please advice me how to control my mind and tell me how to be a celibate forever in order to defeat my addiction.

Pranam swamiji ….by God’s grace my son passed his 12th std board exam with first class…but he’s capable not to score more but because of his laziness and diversion he wasted lot of time purposely and scored very less marks as a result we had to admit him for the course which the college offered us. Feeling bad as well as happy on the other side that he got admission. 4 months back one famous astrologer in guruvayur told that my son is running into a v bad time and asked us to do some parihaarams which we completed …but still after that also we didn’t find any change in him…then a month ago again when we asked the same astrologer that he has not changed his behaviour…he said that someone has done some black magic to him…so we have to take him to a temple famous for removing such black magic . Dear swamiji can you please write an article on difference between Krishna ( positive)and Shalyar( negative). Even though Arjuna had all the qualities he lacked self confidence but he had a motivator like Krishna and he was able to over come the obstacles. At the same time Karna had qualities as well as self confidence but the continues demotivation by shalyar ruined his ability to achieve ,what he wanted to achieve. Hello Guruji, I don’t know if this question has any proper relevance or not because most of the people don’t believe in such things. My question is regarding “Black Magic”. If such things do exists in the world? I am a 22 years old guy working in an IT firm as a Software Engineer, in Pune. It is because of few dreams that I came across I am putting forward this question. I have been in a relationship since my 10th standard. But last year the person whom I was in relationship broke up with me, for no specific reason. I tried to convince her to stay but she didn’t. She has completely changed into a new person. I am so much concerned about her. And I don’t want anyone to ruin her life, hence this effort. Our relationship was also agreed by our parents. But after 6 years of relationship, one fine day she came to me and said we can’t work this more. I just want to know if someone has done something on her or not and if possible, name of the person who has done it. I still love her and looking for a future with her, even though I don’t think my parent’s would accept her again.
