i am a second year b.sc maths student.eventhough ,i am hindu religion,i cant follow its routines.meanwhile,i came to see about tour programme on asianet “BAGHAVATHAM’.it made a tremendous change in me,after then i start to wake up at 5.00am ,(usually i wake up at 7or 7.30am)and recite 53 lines of vishnu sahasranamam stotram that days are really filled with good energy and positive thoughts,but i cant able to maintain these routine more than a month.i want to make my life to be followed by an ideal hinduism,but when mind is disturbed and filled with negative thoughts,i just dont care anything about it.as a krishna devotee iusually prefer to visit guruvayoor temple once in a month.is there any way to balance my mind?as far as geetha and mahabaghavatham is concerned,how be an ideal mind should be?sometime i got quick temper with my family members ONE MAIN DOUBT “IS IT THE GOD WHO PUNISHES AND SAVES ONE’S LIFE”WHAT SHOULD BE OUR APPROACH TOWARDS GOD? kindly reply and guide me to the proper way…….sanoj

The chaitanyam in you is the same in every one; but the mind(character,attitude ,culture,nature,reaction etc are different. Life can manifest and unmanifest through mind. Like electricity it can manifest or unmanifest if there is no filament. HariOm!

swamiji, many people says a person will have born qualities, hw far this is true.. i always believe that quality(what ever), can be acheived by hardwork and commitment..pls give the correct idea..and pls correct me if i am wrong

Both are right. Some are born with good qualities, some have developed it. Even you can hear the statement of some parents that “my son has become wise, even we used to wonder if he would ever!”. HariOm!

Hari om Swamiji.. My problem is that I am very short tempered.I working for a BPO in night shift. I get angry with my colleagues for simple reasons. Please help me to get rid of this.

Hariom! When you are expressing anger you are unknowingly developing a negative environment. When this negative energy increases in to a larger extent you will be slowly negated by others. The liking and dis-liking of people /things(work,food,etc.) are called Raga and Dwesha. When you control your mind from emotional reaction, it is Yama and when you react without loosing your inner peace that is Niyama. HariOm!

Respected Swamiji Hari Om According to Hindu rituals,Earlier when a person died his body was cremated, the asthis were collected,the ashes buried and a sapling planted in that place. Recently i observed at a place that after the cremation the asthis and ashes were collected in a bag and disposed of in a river and no sapling was planted at the place of cremation. The reason being told that it would bind down the soul and never let it acheive moksha…..What do you feel about this…Pls comment.

Listen to the discourses regularly; you will have more clarity on this subject. If we won’t lift our mind from human to divine, no one can help us to reach the goal whatever rituals we do. HariOm!

I heard swamiji’s teaching that Bhagavan is not to be asked for material wishes. Isn’t such a prayer itself a karma? if such a wish will not be granted, what will be the fruit of that karma?
