These are all scientific as some temples offer medicines as Vazhipadu. Theertham is like a health tonic. Physical and psychological reasons are there. But now. many people blindly follow them without understanding it. HariOm!

Replace your karmic burden with good thoughts and divine deeds. Also practice Japam and Dhyanam to guide you in the right path. Meditation is the only way wash away your mental impurity. HariOm!

Athma refers to the individual consciousness that leaves the body and remains in the subtle form until it finds a suitable body to take a rebirth. Once you exhaust yourself of all your karmic debts you merge with the universal consciousness ( paramatma) and there is no more rebirths. Or
