Priya Swamiji, HAPPY ONAM. After getting this Bhagavatham CD my mind always wish to hear this just like adiction.so whenever i get time i will sit in front of the TV and put the CD.is this also a kama that we have to overcome swamiji? pl reply to my personal ID.now no other thoughts coming to my mind other than this and i feel calm and happy.and my illness ie anxiety and fear [this was disterbing for a long time]reduced too much. so i that much thankful to you ,touching your feet swamiji.

Dear Radhakrishnan, Bhagavatham says that there are three Gurus. First is your own mind; Second is your Ishtadevatha; Third is the Scriptures. When you study and recite the Mantra “Hare Rama Hare Rama” you will get directions at the appropriate time.

Dear Aravindan, OM represents the Universal Chaithanyam; NAMO represents your surrender; VASU means Vasathi or home and DEVA is the Chaithanyam. So, Vasudevaya means the “Chaithanyam that resides in you”.

My heartfelt respect to you Swamiji. What is the importance of Ekadasi fasting and what is the real method of fasting? Some advise me we should not eat only rice, rest is allowed on ekadasi fasting. Some say we should not eat salt we should take only fruits and milk. I am totally confused. Please advise. Hari Om.

Dear Lalitha, It is better to take fruits and juices. Find time to meditate and chant the Lord’s name.

Understood to some extend that all happens accordind to our thought, but couldn’t grasp clearly the difference between Paramatma & Jivatma. Otherwise is there any difference in these two.

Dear Hariprasad, Jeevathma means the mind and Paramathma means the Chaithanyam. The source of the mind is Chaithanyam; Mind has to meditate, concentrate and dissolve into Chaithanyam. Then we can experience that Self Realization is God Realization.

Respected Swamiji, These days am seeing some blogs in which Hinduism has been mostly criticised by the caste system it follows. I would like to clarify with you whether any of our scriptures really mentions this caste system and instructs us to follow the same. I do know that Manu script mentions some rules which we are not following as of now, but really curious to know more on this from you. -Pradeep.

Dear Pradeep, All our scriptures state that Caste system is concerned with the quality of our mind. A mind with lethargy and laziness is SHUDRA, with selfishness is VAISHYA; with inquisitiveness is KSHATRIYA; and which understands and experiences the higher spiritual energy is BRAHMANA!
