Vratham or penance means observing physical, mental and social well-being. Physical aspect includes eating less food which is Sathwik in nature, to balance the body functions, blood purity etc. Mental purity is ensured through chanting and meditation etc. Social well-being is observing speaking only Truth which is good and sweet.
